Abstract. We tested a multi-component integrated protection system (IPS), which included a 24-hour pre-planting treatment of seed potato tubers with modulated pulse electric field, at seeding application of Quadris fungicide (3 L/ha), and treatment of plants by standard fungicides (Shirlan, 0.4 L/ha; Ridomil Gold MTs, 2.5 kg/ha; Revus, 0.6 L/ha + Skor, 0.4 L/ha; Shirlan, 0.4 L/ha) in a tank mixture with Izabion, WS biofertilizer (2 L/ha). We tested it for potato protection from Rhizoctonia rot, late blight, Alternaria blight and silver scurf. The investigations were carried out in 2012–2013 in the All-Russian Research Institute of Phytopathology in order to estimate the efficiency of the integrated protection system, contribution of its separate components, supplementing a routine protection scheme. A control was not treated. The integrated protection system reduced the infection of plants with Rhizoctonia by 1.0–1.7 points, reduced the damage of tubers by a silvery scurf five times, and also shifted the time of the first manifestation of late blight and Alternaria on the tops by 4–5 and 2–3 weeks, compared to the untreated control and routine treatment with fungicides, reducing the damage of plants, by one and two orders, respectively. The main contribution to protection against soil infections (R. solani and H. solani) was applied by the soil tillage at seeding with Quadris fungicide. Inhibition of the development of late blight and Alternaria blight in plants was mainly determined by the presence of Izabion in the tank mixture. The shift in the timing of primary manifestations of diseases was 4 and 2 weeks, compared with control and routine treatment with fungicides, respectively. Comparing to the routine scheme and untreated control, the integrated protection system increased the yield by 8.0–8.5 and 14.7–15.1 t/ha, and the percentage of marketable potato fraction reached 95–97 %, exceeding the analogous parameters for the routine scheme and untreated control by 33–37 and 53–58 %, respectively.
