Abstract. The brown marmorated stink bug Halyomorpha halys Stal (Hemiptera, Pentatomidae) is an invasive pest dangerous for crops as well as for forest and ornamental plants. It is difficult to control its population using traditional chemical insecticides due to its spread in sanitary, recreational, protected, park, and resort areas and there are still no highly effective biological and biorational preparations against it. The purpose of the research was to study the main biological indicators of the pest and to develop methods for controlling its population. The work was performed in 2017–2019 in the central zone of the Krasnodar Territory. The first H. halys bugs appeared in May with the highest concentration on trees and shrubs. Then they gradually migrated to various crops. The maximum number of bugs was recorded in August on soybean plants, on which the pest remained until the crop was harvested. A search for entomophages capable of controlling the population of brown marmorated stink bugs in various regions of the Krasnodar Territory resulted in the discovery of two aboriginal ichneumons-egg-eaters that infect the eggs of the pest in the laboratory: Pediobius cassidae Erdos (Hymenoptera, Eulophidae) infected 68.4% of H. halys eggs; Anastatus bifasciatus Geoffroy (Hymenoptera, Eupelmidae) infected 75% of H. halys eggs. Under laboratory conditions, Atabron SC together with Spur EC, Lufoks EC, Eforiya SC, which caused the death of 96–100% of H. halys nymphs, were recognized as the most effective means for controlling the pest population. Biological products Akkar L and Biostop L also demonstrated good results. Their biological effectiveness was 67–79%. The field use of the chemical insecticide Eforiya SC at the rate reduced by more than 10 times in combination with a preparation based on essential oils ensured complete suppression of the pest.
