Summary. The Employees of the Scientific-Practical Center for Foodstuffs National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, RUE, and Belarusian Oil Research and Design Institute BelNIPIneft with the assistance of the employees from All-Russian Research Institute for Starch Products and Kazakh Research Institute of Processing of Agricultural Products developed modern technology of receiving starch-containing reagent for drilling on the base of physical modification (extrusion) of starch-containing materials. Comparative researches of starch containing development type reagent for drilling and similar reagents (Amilor-R12, Phyto-RK) using infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and electron scanning microscopy determined that they are similar in chemical composition, e.g. both of them do not have crystal structures and do not contain whole starch granules. Physicochemical and technological characteristics of starch reagent for drilling is not inferior to the currently applicable peers: relative viscosity of model salt solution, with concentration of the reagent of 15 kg/m3 is 100 s; filtering of model salt solution (0,1 MPa ) with concentration of the reagent of 15 kg/m3 is 5 sm3/30 min; filtration (0,1 MPa ) of biopolymer model solution with concentration of the reagent of 5 kg/m3 is 4,8 sm3/30 min dynamic viscosity of the water reagent solution with a mass fraction of 5%, 600 rev/min OFITE is 11 Pa·s. The developed reagent for drilling refers to the high viscosity starch polymeric reagents, and has comprising effective clayless systems stable in highly mineralized environment and provides drilling fluid with good rheological characteristics, if filtration indicators are stable. At the same time increased relative viscosity solutions using developed starch reagent for drilling is observed.
