Summary. The purpose of this study was to conduct a serological monitoring of cattle against viruses – pathogens of respiratory and gastrointestinal infections in cattle in the import and domestic animals in a comparative perspective. Studies were performed in the conditions of the Department of biotechnology and veterinary medicine Smolensk SAA, Institute of applied veterinary medicine and biotechnology of EE Vitebsk «Badge of Honor» state Academy of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry of the Smolensk region in 2013-2014. In the paper, we used serum from 91 cows of Holstein-Friesian breed and 75 calves obtained from the examined cows. Studies conducted using the indirect hemagglutination (IHA) using erythrocyte diagnostics, representing 0.2% stabilized acrolein or 0.3% glutaraldehyde for tanizirovannyh tannin concentration of 1: 20,000 – 1: 50000 bovine erythrocytes sensitized with antigens of each of virus – infectious bovine rhinotracheitis, diarrhea, parainfluenza-3, rotavirus and coronavirus using conjugating substances – 0.1% chromium chloride with trypan blue. Found that when the importation into the territory of the Russian Federation imported animals had low antibody titers against infectious rhinotracheitis virus, viral diarrhea and parainfluenza-3, rotavirus and coronavirus, but their level increased with further content in the farms, which testifies to their infection in new places habitat. Born to cows imported calves had a very low immune colostral protection, leading to their 85-90% morbidity and 30% mortality, whereas calves received from local cows had an incidence of 25-35% mortality of 7.5% of the number of people.
