DETERMINATION OF UNIFORMITY OF SEED DISTRIBUTION BY TWO-TAPE SHOVEL USING SOFTWARE

Summary. The attention to uniform distribution of seeds on growing space is explained by high potential of increase in productivity with decrease in seeding rates. Seed germination and, consequently, plant development significantly depends on the quality of seed embedding into the soil. In order to create the optimal conditions for growth, it is necessary to substantiate constructive parameters of a shovel, which influence the uniformity of the distribution of seeds on growing space. The indicator of uniformity of seed distribution throughout the length and width of sowing strip with the use of two-tape shovel is influenced by following constructive parameters: drift angle alpha, banking angle beta, the length of cut of the lower edge of tine L. For identification of rational design parameters of the two-tape shovel of a grain seeder peculiarities of seed movement in the system “seed pipe-shovel-soil” was analyzed in theory; the system to determine the movement speed and coordinates of a seed was obtained. The diagram of seed movement was composed, which reflected different variants of seed shifting. On the basis of theoretical prerequisites the program for personal computer was developed, which enables to carry out simulation experiments on seed sowing by two-tape shovel in order to determine its rational design parameters (drift angle alpha, banking angle beta, the length of cut of the lower edge of tine L). As a result of realization of simulation test theoretical dependencies of uniformity of seed distribution throughout the length and width of seeded strip were obtained. The analysis of these dependencies indicates that the best uniformity of seed distribution throughout the length and width (0.9 and 0.78) were obtained at drift angle and banking angle equal to 15 degrees, L = 50 mm. Therefore these parameters can be accepted as the rational ones.
