Summary. The article presents the results of long-term investigations on development and application of new systems and equipments for soil cultivation and sowing, contributing to fertility maintenance, accumulation and preservation of moisture in the soil, increase in the productivity of cultivated crops and production profitability. The investigations were carried out under different soil and climatic conditions of the country (the Volga region, the Cis-Ural region, Central Black Earth region, North Caucasus, Siberia, Non-Chernozem zone of Russia) in 1995-2015 in accordance with the procedures of field experiments and state tests. The developed technology and the complex of domestic machines enabled to reduce the fuel consumption, required power and metal content, in comparison with the best world analogues, 3-4 times with the increase in productivity, yield and profitability up to 2 times. The mass production of machines and tools was organized at ZAO PK “Yaroslavich”, OOO “Varnaagromash” and six plants of the Republic of Tatarstan. The total economic effect from the use of the modernized equipment is at least 8.45 billion rubles per 1 million hectares of spring wheat.

Keywords: drought, water accumulation, environmental safety of production, productivity, cost, proactive import substitution, food independence.
