Summary. The article presents the results of a study of a collection of potato varieties on chernozem soils under conditions of the forest-steppe zone of Western Siberia in 2015-2016. The purpose of the research was the identification of early ripening potato genotypes on the basis of studying the productivity and its elements. The varieties Rosara, Evolution, Alena and Lyubava were selected according to the average early productivity over two years. Their yield in 70 days after planting was 590, 485, 470 and 415 g/plant, respectively. There was not a significant difference between early ripening and middle-early varieties according to productivity: the average yield over two years was 458 and 466 g/plant. The average yield of middle-early varieties at early digging was significantly lower, that is quite explainable by later accumulation of yield due to their biological peculiarities. The middle-early variety Sante did not yield to the best early ripening varieties in the early harvest in both years of studying. High marketability of tubers on average over two years resides varieties from the early ripening group: Lyubava, Lileya, Meteor; the average fraction of commodity tubers was 73.0; 63.8 and 58.2%, respectively. On a trait “big size tubers” it was selected early ripening varieties Alena (95.1 g), Lileya (89.1 g), Lyubava (87.8 g). According to the number of tubers the best cultivars were early ripening varieties Rosara and Evolution (11.5 and 9.7 pcs/plant), middle early varieties Manifest and Kolobok (10.2 and 9.3 pcs/plant) and mid-season variety Sirenevyi Tuman (9.9 pcs/plant).
