Abstract. Now the situation in the agricultural industry of Russia develops in such a way that in spite of adequate supplies of natural and technogenic resources for the production of food within the country to the full extent, its actual production is only a half of the necessary volume. At the same time, the huge part in covering the food deficit is assigned to farm enterprises and personal subsidiary farms. The development of agricultural production became an impulse to the development of new mobile electrified machines. One of the main means for the setting in motion of almost all specified machines is an electric motor. In the electric drive of mobile machines three-phase asynchronous short-circuited electric motors are used in most cases. However, in the rural zone, there is no three-phase network, and the power supply is performed by means of single-phase network. In this connection, there is a problem to start three-phase motors of mobile machines. To start the three-phase engines of mobile machines it is reasonable to use the special frequency converter of a vector-algorithmic type. For an efficiency evaluation of the developed converter, pilot studies of mechanical and energy characteristics of the electric drive were conducted. The three-phase electric motor, which starts and work is carried out from the single-phase network by means of the developed converter, steadily works at the moment on a shaft equal to nominal; in the case of the nominal moment on the electric motor shaft the speed is 7 % lower than nominal; the electric motor drops out of the asynchronous mode in the case of the increase in the moment on the shaft more than 114 % of the nominal rate; the starting and critical moments are 66 and 74 % respectively of nominal rates. The prime cost of the developed vector-algorithmic type converter electric motor with a capacity of 0.75 kW is about 1100 rubles. The general annual economy of electric energy is 928.5 rubles.
