Abstract. The purpose of the research was to determine the level of lipid peroxidation and the state of the antioxidant protection of sows under the influence of aminoseleton. The studies were conducted under the conditions of the pig farm Zolotaya Niva, Znamensky district of the Tambov region, in 2017. For the experiment, we selected two groups (control and experimental) of 10 clinically healthy enceinte sows of hybrid breeds (Large White, Landrace, Duroc). In the first, third and fifth days after farrow, the sows of the control group were made an intramuscular injection of metramag at a dose of 0.5 mL/10 kg of body weight, and intrauterine injection of one suppository of iodopen immediately after the expulsion of afterbirth. Additionally, 24 h before the farrow and on the second day after birth the animals of the experimental group were made an intramuscular injection of aminoseleton at a dose of 25 mL/head. The use of aminoseleton contributed to the optimization of prooxidant and antioxidant blood systems, compared with the control variant. The accumulation of malonic dialdehyde in the organism decreased by 0.94 mcmol/L (25.0%) versus control; antioxidant protection in enzymatic and non-enzymatic links increased (catalase’s and glutathione peroxidase’s activity grew; vitamin A concentration increased by 0.24 mcmol/L; vitamin E concentration increased by 1.5 mcmol/L). The total level of nitric oxide metabolites in the blood serum of the animals decreased by 42.5 mcmol/L (49.0%). The functional reserves of phagocytes’ biocidal properties increased: the index value of spontaneous NBT-test increased by 11.8%; the index value of stimulated NBT-test increased by 24.4%; the index value of functional reserve of cells increased by 0.17 units and the index value of neutrophil activation increased by 0.08 units, in comparison with the control.
