Abstract. A new premix for farm animals with adaptogenic properties was developed at the All-Russian Research Institute of Reclaimed Lands. It consisted of hydrolyzed bog peat, a complex of beneficial microflora with probiotic features, and a plant component (Stratiotes aloiddes L.) with medicinal properties. The work carried out in 2016–2018 was aimed at developing a new premix by selecting the best option for its preparation according to the results of screening studies of the samples with different ratios of the primary components. Also, the selected premix was initially tested on the chicken broilers of ROSS-308 cross. According to the results of testing 12 experimental premix variants, the composition that ensures the stabilization of decay-synthesis processes was recognized as optimal. This was indicated by both the value of the redox ratio close to 1 and the invertase activity reduced 3–5 times compared to the other options. The sample did not contain enterobacteria and microscopic fungi that indicated its sanitary purity, while the content of beneficial lactic acid microflora was at least 10E6 CFU/g. The chickens, the diet of which contained the new premix, grew faster. They earlier reached the mass of technological slaughter (2.5 kg). They adapted to stress better than the birds fed with the main diet and the biopremix Solnyshko only, which included a vitamin and mineral complex. The new premix, contributing to better feed digestion, ultimately provided an increase in productivity (up to 4%). The leukocyte blood count of the chickens fed with the biopremix Solnyshko and the test premix was closer to optimal.

Keywords: premix; enzyme activity; cellulase; invertase; microflora; peat; redox ratio; leukocyte blood count; broiler chickens.
