Abstract. The studies aimed at the conceptualization of the subject area dedicated to selection and distribution of crops. The model contained ontological entities, such as classes and relationships between them, presented in UML format. It included the description of 5 classes and a list of characteristics influencing the target factors. The classes were as follows: Crop, Crop Biology, Growth and Development Conditions, Control Impacts, and Distribution. We proposed an algorithm based on the steering matrix, according to which 7 factors of control actions were scored from 0 to 1 by the expert, suggesting that control impacts influence 22 factors of Crop Biology, Growth and Development Conditions, and Distribution. A crop was selected comparing these matrices with each other. The process of deciding on the management of crop cultivation process included 84 chains of control impact. Each of these chains was also scored from 0 to 1 for compliance with some ideal agronomic strategy. The strongest and weakest strategy for the decision-maker was defined based on these scores. The structural management of the crop selection and distribution consisted not in changing the models that calculated the indicators of each crop in the final tables, but in developing criteria for the presence of the subject area class characteristics in the table. Adding or removing characteristics for each crop changed ratings and totals. Artificial intelligence identified a set of strategies for their estimation algorithm, developed with the expert’s assistance.

Keywords: artificial intelligence; structural management; selection and distribution of crops; UML diagrams; knowledge data bases.
