Abstract. In 2015–2018, we evaluated the resistance of the genetically diverse gene pool of samples (130 Russian samples and 119 foreign samples) of common wheat to the populations of brown rust and powdery mildew in the forest-steppe of the Ob region of the Novosibirsk Region to identify effective sources of disease resistance genes in this territory. The studies were conducted against the background of artificial infection with brown rust and against the natural background of powdery mildew. The standards for resistance were Skala, Kanskaya, and Albidum 12 varieties. The degree of damage to the samples was evaluated as a percentage according to international methods. For the growing season of 2015, the hydrothermal coefficient (HTC) amounted to 1.78; for 2016, it amounted to 1.06; for 2017, it amounted to 1.78; for 2018, it amounted to 1.67; the long-term average value was 1.20. The soil in the experimental plot was leached chernozem. All 106 studied samples carrying the brown rust resistance genes Lr1, Lr2a, Lr3a, Lr9, Lr10, Lr11, Lr14a, Lr15, Lr16, Lr20, Lr22b, Lr26, Lr34, , Lr48, Lr1 + Lr10, Lr9 + Lr1 + Lr10, Lr9 + Lr10, Lr26 + Lr1, Lr34 + Lr10, Lr34 + Lr26 (80–100%) and the powdery mildew resistance genes Pm4b (Tertsiya, Udacha, etc.), Pm8 (Disponent, NL683), Pm38 (Tuymaada, Svirel’) (60–80%) were severely affected by the diseases almost every year. High immunity was revealed to P. recondita in the varieties carrying the genes Lr19, Lr24, Lr25, Lr28, Lr35, Lr41, Lr42, Lr43, Lr45, Lr47, Lr50, and LrAe.sp, and to Blumeria graminis – in the varieties with Pm4a and Pm12 genes. Tulaykovskaya 5, Tulaykovskaya 10, Tulaykovskaya Zolotistaya, Tulaykovskaya 100, Tulaykovskaya 110, Lutescens 101, Tulaykovskaya 108, Lutescens 13, Belyanka, Voevoda, Favorit, Zolotitsa, Ekada 85, Zauralskaya Volna, Garenda, Kvintus, KVS Torridon, KVS Aquilon, Sirael, Arrino, Greina, Kitri, WW17283, Tybalt, and CS2A/2M varieties were characterized by complex immunity.
