Summary. There is a trend of growth areas of acidic soils as a result of the violation of the five-year cycle, and reduce the capacity of liming in 2001-2012(129-162 hectares)and a negative balance of carbonates(-30-25 kg /ha). Between VII and the VIII cycles they increased by 39,8 thousand hectares. Research has shown that area of acid soils decreased by 310 thousand hectares as a result of the transition of the Republic to five-year cycle of liming (1986-2000 biennium) with annual capacities of 239-353 thousand hectares. Patterns of changes in acidic soils mode confirmed by the data of balance of calcium and magnesium. Stable balance of carbonates for 1986-2000 years is105-283 kg / ha. To change current situation of increasing acidity of arable soils it is necessary to restore a five-year cycle of liming at the annual capacities of 270-290 thousand hectares with positive balance of calcium and magnesium at the level of 120 kg/hectare and above.

Keywords: soils acidity, balance of calcium and magnesium, lime fertilizers, lime application.
