Summary. The aim of the studies was to generalize and analyze the changes of the main indices of soil fertility in Orenburg region for the period from 1964 to 2014. For the years of the investigation the weighted mean content of exchange potassium in the soils of region almost did not change and was at the level 328…334 mg/kg. The dynamics of the weighted mean content of available phosphorus had wave-like nature. The maximum value of this index was noted in 1990-1996; it was 23 mg/kg. In 1997-2004 it returned to the level of 1965-1971 and steadied (19 mg/kg). Since 1982-1989 in Orenburg region it is noted the steady tendency towards reduction of the weighted mean content of humus in the soil, which decreased by 0.3 % and reached 3.9 % to 1997-2004, after that it was stabilized at this level.
