Summary. In Predbajkale one of the main problems in the selection of varieties of common wheat is the resistance of plants to spring drought. Physiological aspects of this problem is still not resolved. Drought in this region finds wheat still in the early stages of ontogeny. In the western regions of the Russian wheat plants encounter it only at the stage of development of the generative organs. The lack of drought-resistant varieties in Predbajkale complicates selection of parental pairs. The use of embryonic method allows to further explore the mechanisms of adaptation of plants that are realized at the level of microevolution, which can not be obtained by the usual method comparisons at the level of varieties, as well as to identify promising varieties that are suitable for breeding practice. We show a significant effect of adverse climatic conditions Predbajkalja during the formation of grains of spring wheat on the degree of development of the morphological structures of the embryo. In seeds formed in a lack of heat imbalance in the development of different tissues of the embryo remains in a period of growth of the germ. It greatly increased in the case of seed germination under suboptimal temperatures. Which further affects the possibility of using the potential of the variety and obtaining a stable yield of spring wheat.
