Summary. Since 2006 Primorsky Scientific Research Institute on Agriculture have been carrying out researches on introduction of Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni in Primorsky region. The aim of the study – to select the varieties of Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni being efficient on yield, lodging resistant, with high content of steviosides and vitamin C for cultivation in agro-ecological conditions of the region. The experiment was carried out in the open ground with using technology developed by Primorsky Scientific Research Institute for cultivation of this crop in Primorsky region. The research objects were seven varietis of Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni from Russia and Japan, standard – variety Ramonskaya slastena cultivated in the Russian Federation. Agro-ecological testing was carried out in 2010-2012 on meadow brown soils. The region of researches is characterized in Proimorsky region as the warmest (sum of the average day temperatures of the air higher than 10ºC consists of 2600…2400ºC) and wet (hydrometric coefficient is 1, 6 – 2, 0; precipitations are 73…81% of annual sum that is 500…700 mm) in period of April-October, but with cold winter (up to -30…40ºC). Green cuttings were produced from the uterine plants of the previous vegetation. The seedlings were planted into the ground by hands in the third decade of June. Vegetation period till harvesting was in average 70 days. As a result of testing of Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni during 2010-2012 there was found that climatic conditions of Primorsky region are suitable for its cultivation. According to the characteristics of the dry leaves productivity per plant the most prospective variety was Uslada – 56,9 g; content of the steviosides complex – sample № 2 (Russia) and variety Uslada (13,59 and 15,56% accordingly). Maximum content of vitamin C was found in dry leaves of the Japanese origin samples – №№19 (76, 90 mg-100g) and 11 (79, 02 mg-100g). In the agro-ecological conditions of Primorsky region plants of Stevia rebaudiana of samples №№ 19 and 11, and varieties Uslada and Ramonskaya slastena lied flat on the plots that caused partial losses of plants and the leaves yield.
