Summary. As a result of the studies, carried out with the use of information technologies, we estimate the level of resource potential and efficiency of its use in the context of natural-climatic sub-zones and districts of Stavropol Territory for 1998-2012; the alternative forecasts of a change in these indices during the following decade are represented; information system is developed. In the agricultural enterprises of the central and eastern subzones it is necessary to increase the level of resource availability and improve the efficiency of its use. The main troubles of the eastern regions of the territory are connected with unfavorable soil and climatic conditions, restructuring of agricultural production from mainly sheep and livestock specialization in grain production against the background of its low profitability, the reduction of intellectual jobs. As a result the difficult economic situation of farms in the eastern districts of the region is improving very slowly. The level of profitability in some of them does not provide the conditions for the expanded production.
