Summary. It was investigated the effect of different doses of mineral fertilizers and lime on the content of organic matter and its components: humus and unhumified organic matter (UOM) in typical black soil against the background of introduction of crop residues and without them. In the experiment with application of mineral fertilizers and lime the increase in UOM content in soil for one rotation of grain-row crop rotation «sugar beet – barley – pea – winter wheat» was 0.28…0.49 % against the background of plant residues and 0.19…0.34 % against the background without plant residues, depending on the doses of mineral fertilizers and lime. The highest accumulation of UOM occurred against the background of surface composting of plant residues with a low dose of lime (50 kg/tonne) and was 0.54…0.57 %, depending on the dosage of fertilizers. A correlation dependence of humus content and UOM from the investigated factors (application of lime, crop residues and mineral fertilizers) was statistically significant. Without crop residues a combination of low and middle levels of factors only (mineral fertilizers and lime) increased the humus content. Application of co-products as organic fertilizer was the most effective in increasing of the content of organic matter and contributed to the decline depressing effect of high doses of mineral fertilizers (N510P650K650 for crop rotation) on the content of UOM and humus in the topsoil of typical black soil.

Keywords: organic matter of soil, humus, unhumified organic matter, crop residues, mineral fertilizers, lime, typical black soil.
