Summary. The aim of this study was to analyze competences, market development and scientific and technological achievements in the field of radiation technology development, the logistics of its implementation in domestic agriculture and food industry. The modern world market of services for the irradiation of food and agricultural products is estimated at more than 2 billion US dollars. It is expected that by 2020 it will reach 4.8 billion US dollars, and by 2030 – 10.9 billion US dollars. To date, the total annual amount of irradiated products in the world is estimated at 700…800 thousand tons. The maximal volume accounts for the production of plant origin. The major portion of irradiated products includes spices, dried vegetables and fruits (52 %). The market for irradiation service in the Russian Federation is at the initial stage of formation. In accordance with the "Decisions on Results of Session of the Council for Economic Modernization and Innovative Development under the President of Russian Federation" from December 11, 2014, the development of domestic regulatory framework for the application of radiation technology in agriculture and food industry was requested. In order to develop a methodological and technical basis for radiation technologies in VNIIRAE we analyzed results of international and domestic experience, as well as developed “Scientific Basis for the Use of Radiation Technologies in Agriculture". We performed successful testing of radiation sterilization of fresh and dried vegetables, spices and dried herbs using gamma-irradiator GUR-120. We designed several specialized settings and developed the technical regulations for irradiation of certain types of agricultural products and processed foods with ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. By 2016, State Corporation "Rosatom" plans to establish two centers for radiation sterilization in Russia, one of which will be represented by currently partially-operating Obninsk radiation cluster. We propose the logistics roadmap for application of radiation technologies in agro-industrial production of Russian Federation.

Keywords: radiation technologies, competences, technical regulations, factors and logistics of the development of world and domestic market, Obninsk radiation clus.
