Summary. In a breeding grain-fallow crop rotation of the Ulyanovsk Research Institute of Agriculture in 2011-2013 it was carried out the researches to study the initial material and select the best lines at the final stages of breeding process. The line h 2042 (Alf × 36h1127) was selected according to the results of the competitive test, which was passed for the State Variety Test in 2013 as middle-ripening variety Stipler (The duration of the vegetation period is 60-70 days). The variety was created by the method of individual and family selection from hybrid populations. It is characteristic by high productivity of grain and dry matter, which is confirmed by the results of studying in the system of the State Variety Test in 2013-2014. The greatest yield of grain (9.23 t/ha) was registered in the State Variety Test in 2014 on Shchigrovsky GSU of Kursk region, and of dry matter–on Ordinsky GSU of Perm Krai (8.95 t/ha). Stipler is characterized by good indicators of production quality. It surpasses the standard variety Konkur in the thousand grain weight by 3 g, in grain-unit–by 13 g/l, in husk content it corresponds to the valuable varieties (26-27%), it is resistant to lodging (5 points), shedding and germination on a root at overripe (9 points). The variety has high resistance to smut diseases, against the artificial infectious background in 2011-2013 the injury was less than 10%; against the natural background the injury was not observed. The grade is suitable for production of food.
