Summary. Traction-adhesion characteristics of any power tool are greatly influenced by adhesion weight. This is especially important for tractors with the wheel configuration 4k2, where in the implementation of adhesion properties not entire weight of the tractor participates, but only its part, which falls on the rear drive wheels. Therefore, during the operational process it is often necessary to adjust and stabilize adhesion weight in the running system, associated with the agrotechnical conditions of movement and safety of agricultural work, in particular, during moving from field to field or loading and unloading operations with attached implements. Consequently, the main purpose of the research was to develop a device for redistribution of the adhesion weight and evaluation of its impact on the traction characteristics of the tractor and its running system. The proposed device is spring unloading mechanism (SUM). It is quickly installed and removed and has a low metal content, low cost, and it is easy in service and usage. Due to the adjustment and stabilization of adhesion weight in the running system of the tractor it enables to reduce the skid of a machine-tractor aggregate (MTA), to increase its tractive force and traction power under real operation conditions. It was confirmed in the experimental studies conducted in Amur region during the period autumn 2014 - spring 2015 under real operation conditions. With the moving-out of the working rod of hydraulic cylinder of SUM the unloading of the leading rear axle of tractor from 21.4 kN to 20.1 kN occurs, i.e., its weight reduces by 1.3 kN the weight falling on the front controlled axle grows on the same value. During the reverse movement of the working rod of hydraulic cylinder of SUM the adhesion weight of tractor, falling on the leading rear axle, increases from 21.4 kN to 23.0 kN, which unloading the front controlled axle. Consequently, during the work of SUM the redistribution of the adhesion weight in the running system of the tractor occurs, which enables to increase not only its adhesion qualities, but also power characteristics, agrotechnical speeds, longitudinal stability and safety of operations.
