Summary. In 2012-2014 an the experimental field of OAO "Uchkhoz Iyulskoe IzhGSKhA" the research was carried out in order to identify changes in seed yield and indicators of photosynthetic activity of oil flax VNIIMK 620 depending on seeding method and rate under conditions of the Central Urals. Soil of the experimental plot is sod-podzol medium loamy with content of humus 2.6-2.7%, mobile phosphorus 156-371 mg/kg of soil and exchangeable potassium 231-313 mg/kg of soil; рН of salt extract is 5.2-5.7. The design of two-factor field test included sowing method: usual raw one (the standard) and close drilling; and seeding rate: 5, 6, 7, 8 (control), 9 and 10 million germinating seeds per one hectare. On the average over 3 years the advantage in seed yield (200 kg/ha) usual raw method had due to the increase in field germination (by 3%), the survival of plants during the growing season (by 4%), plant density before harvesting (on 47 pcs/m2), the number of seeds per plant (4.0 pcs) and their weight (0.02 g), leaf area at flowering stage (2500 m2/ha) and photosynthetic potential during the growing season (on 74,000 m2 x day/ha). The highest yield of seed (1.31 t/ha) was registered in the variant with the sowing of 8 million germinating seeds/ha, which is 0.8-3.4 kg/ha higher than the value of this indicator in other variants. In this case, the leaf area at the flowering stage was larger than at rates of 5, 6, 7 and 10m seeds/ha by 1,100-8,800 m2/ha, photosynthetic potential over the growing season–by 70-313 thousand m x day/ha.

Keywords: oil flax, productivity, structure of productivity, sowing method, seeding rate, area of leaves, photosynthetic potential, net productivity of photosynthesis.
