Summary. In 2014-2015 Thatcher Lr-lines and varieties of spring and winter wheat were evaluated for resistance to Novosibirsk population of brown rust in order to identify effective genes and genetically new sources of resistance to the disease, as well as non-identical genes: Lr1, Lr3, Lr9, Lr10, Lr23, Lr26, Lr34, which were widely involved in breeding earlier, caused accumulation of virulent races in the genetic structure of the pathogen and affection of varieties. The evaluation of the resistance of adult plants to the disease was carried out under conditions of isolated infectious nursery located in the village Michurinsky Novosibirsk region. It was estimated more than 400 genetic sources of spring and winter wheat (varieties and Lr-line Thatcher (Th)) from the world collection of VIR on resistance to Novosibirsk population of the pathogen P. recondite; 54 samples were studied in complex: to the local population (natural and synthetic one), and to 27 monopustule isolates. The varieties-carriers of Lr-resistance genes were selected according to the science researches. The conditions of vegetation in the years of research in the region were favorable for disease development in plant ontogeny. The field evaluation showed high susceptibility (80-100%) to brown rust of Th-lines with genes: Lr1, Lr2a, Lr2b, Lr2d, Lr2c, Lr3a, Lr3bg, Lr3ka, Lr9, Lr10, Lr11, Lr14a, Lr16, Lr20, Lr22a, Lr22b, Lr23, Lr26, Lr30, Lr32, Lr33, Lr34, LrB. Th-lines with genes Lr21, Lr27+Lr31 were characterized by the moderate susceptibility (20-40%) to the disease; lines with genes Lr12, Lr13, Lr37, Lr44 were weakly susceptible (1-10%). It was determined high-effective genes of the juvenile (Lr19, Lr24, Lr28, Lr41, Lr45, Lr47, LrAg.i., LrKu, LrBel, LrAeg. speltoides) and age-specific (Lr35, Lr48, Lr49) resistance; the sources of reliable combinations of Lr-genes with age-specific genes Lr12, Lr13, Lr37 and Lr48 were determined.
