Summary. The researches were carried out in 2009-2013 under conditions of JSC «Agrofirma Imeni 15 Let Oktyabrya» and on the base of the laboratory of soil preparation and maintenance of All-Russia Michurin Research Institute of Horticulture to study the longstanding fallow effect on the humus reproduction, acidity, content of nutrients, as well as agro-physical properties of meadowlike leached chernozem soil. There were established three basic profiles on each variant (black fallow and longstanding fallow). The humus content in 20-year-old fallow horizon A increased by 0.4%; A1 – by 0.9%; AB – by 1.8%; B1 – by 0.6%; B2 – by 0.3%. Also in this trial variant was registered the value of soil exchange acidity closer to neutral (value pH KCI Aplough in horizons A, A1 and AB was 6.2, 6.1 and 5.6, respectively, compared to 5.4; 4.9 and 5.0 under the black fallow). The longstanding fallow also increased the value of the lowest soil water capacity. By such soil mode the hydrolytic soil acidity (Hr) decreased compare to black fallow 3.8 times; the amount of absorbed bases in the humus horizon (54-56 cm) increased by 12-15 mEq/100 g; hydrolyzable nitrogen content increased by 31,5 mg/kg; content of phosphorus increased almost 2 times. Сompare to black fallow Soil, maintained within 20 years as longstanding fallow, has more favorable agrochemical properties for planting orchard.

Keywords: soil, longstanding fallow, orchard planting suitable, apple tree, black fallow, soil agrochemical properties, soil agrophysical properties, renovation of plot.
