Summary. Intensive rice varieties released in production are able to form yield up to 10-12 t/ha. For this result, among the other things, it is necessary to ensure complete balanced mineral nutrition of plants. One of the ways to solve this issue is introducing mixed fertilizers containing not only phosphorus and potassium but also nitrogen fertilizers during the main application. The research was conducted in 2012-2014. The soil of the experimental plot is meadow-chernozem, weakly alkaline, heavy loamy. The design of the test included two variants: the control (phosphorous and potash fertilizers were applied before sowing, nitrogen fertilizer – as topdressing) and experimental variant (mixed fertilizer, containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, was introduced before sowing, and nitrogen fertilizer – as topdressing during the tillering stage). The efficiency of mixed fertilizers was determined by following indicators: nitrogen status of rice plants (according to the results of leaf diagnostics), yield and its structure, economic efficiency of the application. Results of express control of nitrogen status the provision of rice plants with this element in the variant with mixed fertilizer was higher by 9-26 units. This demonstrates the more efficient use of nitrogen. Use of mixed fertilizers provided yield growth due to the increase in grain weight from a plant (by 0.11 g) and increased number of filled spikelets on a panicle (by 5 pcs.). Economic effect in the field experiment (1558 rub./ha) was obtained due to the lower costs of mixed fertilizers, exclusion of one aerial application and some yield increase. It is recommended to apply mixed fertilizer (N23P17K15) for rice during the main application at a dose of 200-250 kg/ha.

Keywords: rice, mineral nutrition, fertilizers, mixed fertilizers, yield, economic efficiency.
