Summary. We studied the peculiarities of productivity formation in potato plants, resistant to potato virus Y (PVY). We examined the samples of a hybrid population, obtained from the cross of PVY-resistant parental line 2-1-2 and complex PVY-susceptible hybrid 50-03. The resistance was evaluated with the help of diagnostic tests of plants, cultivated under natural infection conditions, as well as after artificial contamination. The molecular marker RYSC3, linked with the dominant allele of the Ry(and) gene, was identified in genotypes of the resistant samples. It was revealed a high level of correlation between phenotypic demonstration of resistance in the studied samples and the presence of DNA-marker RYSC3 (the correlation coefficient was 0.96). Under the contrast weather conditions, virus-resistant forms of the hybrid population possessed higher productivity level, than susceptible samples. The difference in the average weight of tubers, formed by one plant, was 24.2-32.8% in different years. The significant differences (p is less 0.05) between these groups of hybrids were revealed in three of the four studied years. The contribution of the virus-resistance into the yield formation of hybrids ranged from 4 to 22%. Variation coefficients of forming productivity in resistant samples were lower by 11.1-21.5% than in susceptible forms, which indicates greater stability of this sign in virus-resistant forms. The average number of tubers per one plant in virus-resistant hybrids was higher by 9.1-28.8% than in susceptible ones. At the same time, one-way ANOVA test revealed significant differences only in one of the four studied years. The influence of virus resistance on the average number of tubers, formed by one plant, varied in the range 2-22% in different years. Due to the higher and more stable productivity the potato hybrids, resistant to PVY, were tried out different stages of breeding process significantly more often than unstable forms.
