Summary. The investigations were carried out in 2011-2015 in order to estimate the yield and main elements of productivity of soft winter wheat varieties of intensive type, bred in the All-Russian Research Institute of Grain Crops. Thirteen varieties of soft winter wheat were the material for the study. The test was carried out on plots with the area of 10 m2, the replication was six-fold. Plant density was registered on fixed plots after germination and before harvesting. Sheaves were analyzed structurally under laboratory conditions according to the Procedure of state variety testing of crops. Such characteristics as a number of productive stems per plant, ear length, a number of grains per ear and plant, grain weight per ear and plant, a number of spikelets in an ear, productive plant density, thousand grain weight were taken into account. Data processing was done with the help of programs Statistica 6.0 and Microsoft Excel. The maximum productivity of winter wheat varieties under unfavorable conditions of vegetation is formed due to the productivity of ear; but in the years with favorable conditions for growth and development – due to all elements of the structure. We revealed a positive correlation between productivity and number of spikelets per ear (r = 0.356), number of kernels per ear (r = 0.497), kernel weight per ear (r = 0.500), number of kernels per plant (r = 0.472), kernel weight per plant (r = 0.415), harvesting index (r = 0.667).We did not obtain any accurate correlation between the productivity and thousand grain weight and between kernel weight per head and plant.

Keywords: productivity, structure, plant density, wheat, elements, variation, correlation.
