Summary. The article presents the results of the evaluation of genotype influence of Hereford cows-mothers on the variability of lipid parameters of blood and milk during the suckling period. The investigations were carried out on purebred and crossbred (25% Black-and-White and 75% Hereford) Herefords cattle. To determine the lipid profile of blood and milk the method of thin-layer chromatography on Silufol plates was used. The material obtained was biometrically processed by variation statistics using the software Versia and Statistica 6.0, which included correlation analysis by Pearson in calculating the proportion of explained variance by the coefficient of determination (R2 = r2 x 100%). To assess the nature of the relationship between the blood and milk lipids the coefficients of biological absorption (CBA) were calculated. The first month of lactation is characterized by the most intensive lipid metabolism in the organism of cows. Then in the blood of purebred cows its intensity gradually decreased, accompanied by the reduction of concentrations of total lipids, phospholipids, free cholesterol, etherified cholesterol, triacyglycerides, free fatty acids to the sixth month of lactation, respectively, by 23.69, 43.57, 25.00, 17.01, 80.85 and 23.81%. In the blood of the hybrid analogues the lipid content was almost unchanged, except for an increase in the level of triacyglycerides by 37.50% as well as the reduction of phospholipids and free fatty acids by 29.41 and 23.81%. Genotypes of cows had a significant effect on the lipid composition of milk; according to their amount purebred Hereford cows differed from the cross-breed cows during the suckling period more than 1.5 times. During the processes of milk formation, regardless of the genotype of animals, triacyglycerides of blood is not used, but free and etherified cholesterols are utilized. Their CBA varied within the limits 120.00-172.22 and 252.45-1192.60 standard units, respectively. During the process of biosynthesis of milk lipids in purebred cows phospholipids of blood are additionally used (CBA is 9.86-33.83 standard units). These conclusions are confirmed by the results of correlation analysis.
