Summary. The aim of this work was to analyze the fertility state of arable land in Vladimir region according to the main agrochemical indicators. We determined soil acidity according to GOST 26483-85, the content of organic matter (humus) – according to GOST 26213-91, the content of mobile compounds of phosphorus and potassium (by Kirsanov’s method) – according to GOST 26207-91. In the work we used the results of the overall survey of arable land, carried out by the center of agrochemical service “Vladimirsky” in 1965-2015, the data of the institutions of state statistic and operating branch records. According to the results of the first cycle of soil survey (1965-1970) soil acidity (4.7 units pH) corresponded to the middle acid value, the provision with humus was low (1.74 %), the content of phosphorus was close to low (56 mg/kg), of potassium – to middle level (91 mg/kg). An increase in the application volumes of chemical ameliorants, organic and mineral fertilizers led to positive changes in the structure of arable soils. Since 1996 the fraction of acidic soils decreased from 90.0 to 26.6 %, of soils with very low and low content of humus – from 73.1 to 50.1 %, of phosphorus – from 60.7 to 12.0 %, of potassium – from 47.7 to 18.0 %. The reduction of application of fertilizers since the middle 90s gave rise to the processes. First of all, it was reflected in the acidification of soils (from 5.6 to 5.54 pH units), the growth of the fraction of acidic soils from 26.6 to 44.0 %, and the reduction of the provision with mobile potassium from 131 to 102 mg/kg of soil. At the same time, there was not a reduction in the content of organic substances and mobile potassium in the soil. Apparently, this is due to the aftereffect of previously applied organic fertilizers and rock phosphate, and, perhaps, the exception of poor soils from cultivation.
