Summary. The aim of the research was to determine the paintwork system with the highest resistance to abrasion. In considering the coating durability of working devices of technological machines, this property is fundamental, since during the operation the coating is subjected to intensive attrition and loses its protective properties. The choice of paintworks for the test was based on the analysis of paints used for the dyeing of agricultural machinery, as well as in accordance with GOST 6572 and GOST 9.032. We examined the following coatings systems: “acrylic primer – acrylic enamel” (А-Ас), “acrylic primer – alkyd enamel” (A-Al), “acrylic primer – pentaphthalic enamel” (A-Pph), “epoxy primer – acrylic enamel” (E-Ac), “epoxy primer – alkyd enamel” (E-Al), “epoxy primer – pentaphthalic enamel” (E-Pph). Method B of GOST 20811 was used to determine the abrasion resistance of the coatings systems. Laboratory tests were carried out at the Machines reliability and repair department of Novosibirsk State Agrarian University. According to GOST 27674-88 the wear intensity is the ratio of depreciation to the caused path, in which the wear occurred, or to the volume of the work done. Under laboratory conditions it was determined as the ratio of the weight of worn paintwork to the distance of friction (mcg/cm); under operation conditions – as the ration of the weight of worn paintwork to the volume of work (mcm/100 t). Under laboratory conditions the wear intensity (Im) for the studied paintwork systems was: А-Ас – 0.37 mcg/cm, A-Al – 0.56 mcg/cm, A-Pph – 0.97 mcg/cm, E-Ac – 0.29 mcg/cm, E-Al – 0.72 mcg/cm, E-Pph – 0.98 mcg/cm. Under operation conditions the wear intensity (I(Vwork)) was А-Ас – 3.0 mcm/100 t, A-Al – 3.2 mcm/100 t, A-Pph – 4.2 mcm/100 t, E-Ac – 1.5 mcm/100 t, E-Al – 1.75 mcm/100 t, E-Pph – 3.1 mcm/100 t. Under laboratory and operation conditions the system “epoxy primer – acrylic enamel” (E-Ac) had the least wear intensity.
