Summary. The investigations were carried out at the station of soil-protecting farming in a grain-fallow crop rotation with different soil cultivation systems (deep moldboard, deep combined, minimal combined, minimal mulching) in Kemerovo Research Institute of Agriculture in 2014-2016. The aim of the study was to determine the efficiency of soil cultivation systems for pea, their influence on the yield and the main elements of productivity. The new variety of field pea ‘Viktoria’ was the object of the experiment. The soil of the test plot is leached medium thick chernozem, heavy loamy in granulometric composition. The content of humus in a layer 0-40 cm is 8.2 %, pH is 6.0, the content of P2O5 is 143 mg/kg, of K2O5 – 134 mg/kg. The productivity of pea was substantially determined by the content of productive moisture in the soil at the phase of 3-5 leaves (r is 0.4681-0J.7639), the influence of the environment was 75.4 %. In severe droughty years against the background of the minimal mulching system of tillage the content of productive moisture in the soil during the period of formation of generative organs of pea was higher in comparison with the deep moldboard one (the control) by 17.1-34.7 %. In the same variant and the same stage of plant development, it is noted the better provision with nitrate nitrogen and mobile phosphorus in comparison with the control by 14.9 and 27.0 mg/kg. Better moisture provision and the nutrition regime at the minimal mulching system provided an increase in the yield of pea grain, in comparison with control on average by 0.31 t/ha. This regularity was clearer in severe droughty years.

Keywords: pea, productivity, productivity elements, soil cultivation.
