Abstract. Field bindweed is one of the weeds that are most difficult to exterminate. Its abundance is constantly growing in Altai Krai. Only for the period from 2001 to 2007 the tillage area occupied by field bindweed increased from 18.2 % up to 31.4 %. The most effective method to fight field bindweed is a fallow treatment. Such method allows to use high herbicide consumption rates in the optimal periods of time, when herbicides penetrate the weed root system as deeply as possible together with the descending flow of assimilates. We studied the effectiveness of herbicides (Dianat, water solution and Esteron, emulsion concentrate) and their mixtures with Roundup, water solution, used against bindweed in the fallow field. We also determined the optimal rates of application. The research was carried out in Ob forest-steppe of Altai Krai at the experimental field of Altai Agricultural Research Institute in 2009-2012. The soil of the test plot was ordinary chernozem, medium thick, low humic, medium loamy. The following variants were studied in the experiment: Dianat in pure form at the doses of 0.4, 0.5 and 0.6 l/ha and in the mixtures with Roundup (Roundup, 2 l/ha + Dianat, 0.2 l/ha; Roundup, 3 l/ha + Dianat, 0.2 l/ha); Esteron in pure form at the doses of 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8 l/ha and in the mixtures with Roundup (Roundup, 2 l/ha + Esteron, 0.6 l/ha; Roundup, 3 l/ha + Esteron, 0.6 l/ha). During one year of fallowing the infestation by field bindweed could be considerably decreased. If there are no cereal weeds in the fallow field after two mechanical treatments, it is enough to use Dianat, 0.4 l/ha or Esteron, 1.2 l/ha. If there are annual and biennial cereal weeds in the fallow, they should be treated with the following tank mixture: Roundup, 2 l/ha + Dianat, 0.2 l/ha or Roundup, 2 l/ha + Esteron, 0.6 l/ha.

Keywords: field bindweed, root system, dicoticides, glyphosate, tank mixture, fallow field.
