Summary. Neglected gardens are a source of disease and pests for young and fructiferous fruit and berry perennial plantings, and the absence of environmental and conservative activities on abandoned lands during the long period (20–30 years) leads to ecological and biological imbalance and their degradation. As a result, the lands with plantings, removed from service, get into the category of so-called “disturbed lands”, requiring procedures for their protection, recultivation, and amelioration. Authors introduced the notion of recultivation of perennial fruit plantings comprising the complex of technique and technological procedures and the system of economical and ecological measures, directed to productivity and economic value restoration of disturbed lands by laying fruit and berry plantings in the general system of extended reproduction of intensive gardening. This term is not terminological or scholastic only. The need for its introduction is caused by a number of reasons aspects, reflecting the current status of commercial gardening and determining the necessity of separation of technologies of extended reproduction of commercial gardening both in the system of garden rotation and of recultivation of disturbed lands. Soil-preparation procedures at the technological stage of recultivation during the transition from extensive planting to intensive ones differs considerably from measures of garden rotation of intensive plantings. The intensification of commercial gardening supposed the decrease in the duration of soil-recovery period due to the selection of planting stock resistant to soil sickness and definite scheme of rotation of pomaceous and stone cultures. It caused the necessity of biological stage of recultivation. Multidimensionality of tasks of extended reproduction of commercial gardening and the fact of laying of new gardens in the place of old plantings supposed the usage of recultivation technologies of disturbed lands in a complex with economical methods and ecological rehabilitation. Recultivation oneself considered as imprescriptible element/component of the extended reproductive process.

Keywords: extended reproduction, technological innovation, recultivation, life cycle, garden rotation.
