Summary. The reduction of consumption of mineral substances in the diets due to the increase in their biological availability is an important task of feeding farm animals. A promising direction in this process is the application of metal-organic complexes of trace minerals (chelates). The purpose of the study was to compare the effectiveness of quail feeding by chelate compounds of trace elements (iron, copper, zinc, manganese, cobalt) with green tea gallocatechins and L-asparaginates at lower doses, compared to the normal one. The experiment lasted for five months. It was carried out in 2015 on the physiological yard of FGBNU “Siberian Research Institute of Animal Husbandry” (Novosibirsk region). The subjects of the research were the Japanese quails; divided into three similar groups in 100 head at one-day age. The control group was fed by inorganic compounds of trace elements. The second and the third experimental groups were fed by combined feed with chelates with the reduced mineral content 10 times and 20 times, respectively. Compared to the control group, the safety of the quail chicks from the experimental groups increased by 4 %; the average daily weight gain increased by 6.0–6.7 %; the feed cost per unit of growth decreased by 15.2–16.9 %. The weight of the gutted quail carcass from the experimental groups was higher by 4.8–7.2 %; the protein qualitative index of meat – by 15.9–12.4 %; the egg production per hen – by 4.1–5.3 %; the intensity of egg-laying – by 3.0–3.8 %; the output of egg weight – by 5.0–5.8 %; the output of hatching eggs – by 3.5–5.4 %. The cost of feed per 1 kg of egg mass in the second and the third groups decreased by 12.1–13.0 %; the waste of incubation – by 22.2–33.3 %, compared to the control group. The positive economic effect in the experimental groups was from 10.4–11.8 % during the growing period and 6.6–7.7 % during the egg-laying period. The application of chelate complexes of trace elements in combined quail feed in the form of gallocatechins of green tea and L-asparaginate allowed to reduce the concentration of feed mineral elements 10 and 20 times respectively, compared to the norm of the application of traditional mineral salts of trace elements.
