Abstract. On the territory of the Yenisei North of Taimyr Peninsula domestic reindeer farming, as a branch of agricultural production, is the scope of the land, unsuitable for any other type of agricultural use, which contributes to the lifestyle and living conditions of the indigenous population, as well as to food safety of the Yenisei North and surrounding areas. According to the financial statements of cooperatives of the Taymyrsky Dolgano-Nenetsky municipal district, the farms of the domestic reindeer farming are unprofitable. The main goal of our research was to improve the efficiency of reindeer farming on the territory. For the analysis of the industry, we applied a systematic approach, where the variables were: production resources, production costs, peculiarities of technology and organization of production processes, production conditions (natural and economic). Proceeding from the tasks set, the industry was characterized on the basis of the following production and economic indicators: quality and competitiveness of products; marketability of the industry; gross income. Calculations of economic indicators on the basis of statistical forms on the example of cooperatives of the Yenisei North showed that the marketability of the industry is very low, the volumes of output are insignificant and make up less than 50 % of the possible realization in most periods. Therefore, it is required a new approach to management of the sector, new innovative solutions, making it possible to increase the value added of the final product. To improve the efficiency of the industry is necessary to create such a system agricultural production, processing and marketing of products, where these components will be included in an integrated meat food subcomplex of the territory of the Yenisei North, which will allow to enhance and change the outlets of finished products and increase the efficiency of the branch as a whole.
