Abstract. In order to study the compatibility, growth activity and productivity of cultivar-stock combinations of cherry and plum in orchards, the experiments were founded in the plantations of I.V. Michurin Federal Scientific Center in 2010. The objects of the research were clonal stocks of cherry VSL-2, P-7, VTs-13, cherry clone ‘Vladimirskaya’; cherry varieties ‘Morozovka’ and ‘Turgenevka’; plum stocks VVA-1, VSV-1, OP 23-23, SVG 11-19; plum varieties ‘Konfetnaya’ and ‘Etyud’. The layout of plants was (5 x 2.5) m; the system of soil cultivation was bare fallow. The experiment was laid by the principle “tree-plot” in the 5-times replication. Cherry ‘Morozovka’ and ‘Turgenevka’ was characterized by the more intensive growth on the stocks VTs-13 and P-7 and by the poor growth on the cherry stocks ‘Vladimirskaya’ and VSL-2. The greatest volume of crown and tree height of plum cultivars were noted on SVG 11-19 stock. VVA-1 dwarf stock demonstrated almost the full incompatibility with plum ‘Konfetnaya’. For the studied cherry cultivars it is preferable to growth them on the stocks VTs-13 and P-7. Over three years of fructification, the average yield of ‘Morozovka’ cultivar in these combinations were 16.9 and 16.3 kg/tree, respectively, of ‘Turgenevka’ cultivar – 17.2 and 17.3 kg/tree. The highest average yield of plum ‘Konfetnaya’ was on the stocks SVG-11-19 and VSV-1; it was 7.5 and 8.0 kg/tree, respectively. The plants of ‘Etyud’ cultivar formed the maximal average yield on the stocks SVG-11-19 and VSV-1; it was 25.4 and 22.9 kg/tree, correspondingly.
