Abstract. Field investigations in the territory of the Ust-Yenisei North were aimed to the obtaining of new fundamental knowledge of a current situation of income in traditional sectors in the lower Taymyr Dolgan-Nenets municipal district, taking into account the development dynamics of the local agroindustrial complex. In the current disparity of prices for finished products in different sectors of the region, and taking into account the specifics of the northern delivery, the average monthly household income of the rural population ranges from 13 to 28 thousand rubles. It is 1.5–3.3 times below the income of people in urban districts of the region, where the average salary amounted to 43,000 rubles. Taking into account the expert assessments and analysis of economic returns of enterprises of the local agriculture, low income of the villagers is associated with the low efficiency of economic objects (farms and national family economies, cooperatives, etc.). They mainly depend on the state support, climatic conditions, difficult logistics, disparity of prices and internal cost structures. This greatly affects the stagnation of regions in the Arctic. The local prices of the main products that are included in the local basket of goods play a special role. The average income does not provide for the minimum needs of the local rural population under extreme conditions of the Arctic. The information obtained is necessary for the development of concepts and strategic programs for social and economic development, both for individual settlements and for the Taymyr Dolgano-Nenets municipal district of Krasnoyarsk Krai as a whole.
