Abstract. The aim of this work was to assess the grain metric parameters of samples of naked spelt selected in 2015 from the hybrid populations obtained in VIR by V.D. Kobylyansky, hybrids of spelt with triticale, as well as the collection samples of hulled spelt wheat, selected on grain weight in the Siberian Research Institute of Plant Growing and Breeding. In 2016–2017 we measured the length, width and thickness of 40 grains, as well as the weight and grain nature of four hulled and six bare-grained spelt forms (Triticum dicoccum (Schrank) Schuebl.), triticale form UK 30/33 and five F5 hybrids, developed from crosses ((F1 bare-grained spelt L 133 x PKK) x hulled spelt K-25516) x triticale UK 30/33 in the Siberian Research Institute of Plant Growing and Breeding. Grain yield of bare-grained spelt samples was estimated in 2015–2017. The breeding form Nc-10/15, developed by V.D. Kobylyansky, had the highest grain yield (4.45 ± 0.17 t/ha), the biggest grain size (the length was 8.81 ± 0.13 mm), the highest grain weight (58.1 ± 2.3 mg) and nature grain (802 ± 8 g/L). Gremme – a bare-grained spelt variety, taken as a standard, had low grain weight (44.0 ± 0.01 mg) and the nature of grain (727 ± 11 g/L). From the F5 hybrid population between spelt and triticale, there was selected a form No. 4 that was similar to spelt on the morphology of the ear, but had hairy ear-neck like the wheat-rye amphiploid UK 30/33 and improved, compared to triticale, metric indices of grain. All the studied hybrids have the cytoplasm of the bare-grained spelt line L133 x PKK and the rye mark “hairy ear-neck”, for the manifestation of which the gene localized in the chromosome 5R is responsible. The hybrids No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 are close to the triticale on the morphology of the ear. Hybrids No. 4 and No. 5 are similar to the maternal spelt. The hybrids No. 1 and No. 3 have wrinkled grains and low grain nature like the paternal form of triticale. These hybrids are of interest for triticale and spelt breeding.
