Abstract. The aim of the research was to increase the efficiency of protected cropping by developing an experimental greenhouse intended for the approbation of innovative agrotechnologies. The tasks of the research included determining the directions and methods of conducting the experiments, developing the evaluation methodology. The main areas of research were: “smart” cultivation, biopharmaceuticals, organic farming, obtaining bio-agrochemicals and photonics. To control the growth and development of plants in the experimental greenhouse, the use of the comparison method and the developed method for the rapid assessment of the content of photosynthetic pigments based on the analysis of the absorption spectrum of leaves is proposed. Experimental studies related to the assessment of the content of photosynthetic pigments in the leaves of cucumber and tomato were carried out in OOO Agrocomplex “Churilovo”, Chelyabinsk region. The necessary data on the absorption spectrum of the leaf apparatus were determined using a spectrophotometer and a quantometer. The arithmetic mean values of the absorbance for photosynthetic pigments of cucumber and tomato pigments were 2.232 and 3.453 (chlorophyll a), respectively; 2.011 and 3.006 (chlorophyll b); 4.243 and 6.460 (the sum of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b); 0.921 and 2.504 (carotene); 0.992 and 0.830 (xanthophylls); 1.913 and 3.334 (the sum of carotenoids). The ratio of energy consumption in the processes of respiration and photosynthesis was 0.40 for cucumber leaves, 0.66 for tomato leaves. These values, characteristic for plants with high yield, should be used for comparison with experimental data obtained with the approbation of innovative agrotechnologies. Complex analysis, including the determination of such indicators as the content of photosynthetic pigments, the energy ratio in the energy-transforming processes, the supply of plants with nutrients, the yield and the quality of the products, will allow the most efficient implementation of research related to the development and assimilation of promising technologies in protected cropping.
