MANIFESTATION OF THE SYNERGY EFFECT IN THE TREATMENT OF FARM ANIMALS WITH ANTIBIOTICS IN COMBINATION WITH INJECTIONS OF PROTEIN HYDROLYZATE AND SOME MICRONUTRIENTS

Abstract. The tests were carried out for experimental verification of the effect of increasing the therapeutic efficacy of antibiotics of the tetracycline group in the case of combined use with protein hydrolyzate and iodine in the form of diiodotyrosine. The experiments were carried out on calves up to two months of age and hypotrophic suckling pigs with intestinal or respiratory diseases in Kaliningrad region from 2008 to 2017. For this purpose, 14 groups of calves of Holstein and Black-and-White breeds (n = 148) and 2 groups of piglets of a bacon breed (n = 39) were formed. On calves we studied the influence of several treatment methods on the terms of recovery. They were intramuscular injections of antimicrobial drugs Dorynum at the dose of 1 g, Nitox 200 at the dose of 1 ml/10 kg of body weight, Baytril 5% at the dose of 1 ml/20 kg of body weight, and their combinations with Hydropepton (protein hydrolyzate) at the dose of 10 ml, Hydropepton with iodine (diiodthyrosine) at the dose of 10 ml, Hydropepton plus (with diiodthyrosine) at the dose of 5 ml, diiodthyrosine solution at the dose of 10 ml, Imunofan at the dose of 1 ml. We also examined the influence of intramuscular administration of Amoxicillin 15% at the dose of 1 ml/10 kg body weight, and Suiferrovit-A at the dose of 3 ml, containing a protein hydrolyzate, some trace elements and vitamins of B group, on the terms of recovery, mortality, and body weight gain in piglets. As a result of administration of antibiotics of the tetracycline group (Dorynum and Nitox 200) in combination with protein hydrolyzate and diiodotyrosine, the period of calf treatment significantly decreased from 2.33 ± 0.99 to 1.73 ± 0.64 days; in combination with Imunofan – from 3.30 ± 0.67 to 2.10 ± 0.74 days. This can be explained by the synergy effect between these factors, which is confirmed by the results of studies in which one of the factors was absent. When amoxicillin and Suiferrovit-A were administered to the pigs, the treatment time significantly decreased from 5.00 ± 1.15 to 3.00 ± 1.03 days, but during the screening studies on pigs, we encountered a similar effect when using only Suiferrovit-A.
