Abstract. For spraying plants when they are protected from weeds with a reduced flow rate of the working fluid and preparation, in comparison with the traditional 200 dm3/ ha spraying, the design of a pneumohydraulic device is proposed. Injection of droplets of slot sprays by the air flow leaving the nozzle of the device with a fluid injection coefficient for the main operating modes of the proposed device does not exceed a critical value of 0.5. The air-droplet flow with an increased number of droplets, in accordance with the regularity of the spread of the air jet, is transported to processing objects. Under conditions of Kuraginsky district of Krasnodar Krai, a laboratory-field study was carried out on a technological operation – spraying of weeds with Sprut-Extra soil herbicide. We tested an experimental sprayer with pneumohydraulic devices in an aggregation with MTZ-82, in comparison with the basic version with slot nozzles (MTZ-82 + OP-2000). Spraying was carried out at the speed of 15.94 mps and the rate of 0.003863 m3. Air flow left the nozzle of the device and was directed at the angle of 25 degrees to the working surface. We also examined the mass flow of sprayed liquid of 0.00033 kg/0.01077 and two sprayers, horizontally arranged at the angle of 80–100 degrees to each other two nozzles. It ensured the spraying width of 3 m with the height of the pneumohydraulic sprayers of 0.8 m above the objects of processing, at the speed of 17 kmh (4.72 mps) with the rate of the working fluid and the preparation of 15.12 dm3/ha and 2.5 dm3/ha, respectively. The total loss of weed vegetation, including field bindweed, was registered. When using the pneumohydraulic device in the sprayer, compared to traditional spraying, it is possible to reduce the number of sprayers on the pricker 3 times, reduce the flow of working fluid more than 10 times, the consumption of the preparation – 1.3 times, increase the productivity of the sprayer – 1.4 times.
