Abstract. The authors analyze the possibility of breeding work on the development of new domestic potato varieties. On the example of the project “Academic class” on the direction of “Breeding and seed production” the possibility of involving high-school children in scientific research by studying modern technologies of seed production in the cultivation of domestic varieties of potato is shown.
