Abstract. The purpose of the research was to study the influence of chicken manure, enriched with selenium and cobalt, on the growth of biomass of Musca domestica larvae and the content of crude protein in it under different types of drying. DAPS-25 (diacetophenonylselenide) and cobalt asparaginate were used to enrich the substrate with selenium and cobalt, respectively, in the concentrations (per 1 kg of substrate) of 5 mg Se; 5 mg Se + 5 mg Co, 15 mg Se; 15 mg Se + 15 mg Co; the control was native litter. Thirty eggs were placed on the substrate, the larvae were cultivated for 4 days at 30% air humidity, air temperature of 27 C; then they were dried with lyophilic drying (-55 C, 24 hours), infrared drying (50 C, 6 hours), using a drying cabinet (50 C, 12 hours); and the flour was obtained. The maximum biomass was obtained during the cultivation of larvae for 72 hours, the maximum one – on the substrate with Se (5 mg/kg) – 0.3369 g, with Se and Co (15 mg/kg) – 0.3325 g, which was higher by 11.7 and 10.2% than in the control (0.3017 g). The highest protein content was observed in biomass on the substrate with Se and Co (15 mg/kg) – by 3.72% more than in the control (58.00%). The content of crude protein in the larvae flour in the control during drying decreased, respectively, by 4.38, 11.28 and 11.45%, in comparison with the initial one, on the substrate with Se and Co (15 mg/kg) – by 2.44, 8.30 and 15.15%. The cost of 1 kg of the final product using lyophilic, infrared drying and drying cabinet will be 122 rubles, 84 rubles, and 75 rubles, respectively. Infrared drying is the most cost-effective method in terms of raw protein content and drying costs.
