Abstract. The influence of the feed additive “Ormik”, which acts as an acidifier of feed in pig diets, on the growth of live weight, morbidity, safety and the clinical and physiological state of an organism was studied. The studies were carried out in Kaluga region on pigs “Large White x Landrace” (10 heads in each group), which were nursed from the 60th to the 160th day. The additive includes organic acids (formic, lactic, orthophosphoric, acetic) and diatomite crumbs. The dosage of the feed additive in the first week was 1 g/kg of feed, from the second week and further it was 3 g/kg of feed. The use of the feed additive increased phagocytic activity up to 65.6%, or by 7.7%, compared to the control. The amount of lactic acid microorganisms in the contents of the rectum in the animals of the experimental group increased, in comparison with the control, with a lower content of streptococci and complete elimination of Candida fungi. The content of lactobacillus in the test group and the control one was 2.7 x 10E8 and 1.2 x 10E8 CFU/g, of bifidobacteria – 3.6 x 10E9 and 2.1 x 10E9 CFU/g, of streptococci – 3.2 x 10E3 and 3.1 x 10E4 CFU/mL, respectively. The content of Candida fungi in the control was 1.0 x 10E4 CFU/g. The content of total bilirubin in the blood serum of pigs of the experimental group was 8.8 micromol/L, which is 4.3% lower than in the control; the cholesterol content was 3.3 micromol/L, which is 8.3% lower than in the control; albumin content was 33.5 g/L, or higher by 8.1% than in the control; the content of globulins was 37.0 g/L, or lower by 6.3% than in the control. The level of total protein was the same (70.5 g/L). The average daily gain of the live weight of pigs in the experimental group was 599.0 g, in the control group – 540.0 g. The safety of the experimental group was 100%, of the control group – 90%.
