Abstract. In 1998–2017 on an experimental field of the All-Russian Research Institute of Reclaimed Lands the monitoring of the elements of the soil water regime of the drained agricultural landscape was carried out. On the basis of the obtained data, the dynamics of the hydrological status of soils of a dead-ice ridge was studied. The paper shows the changes in the water regime of drained soils under different landscape conditions. In the course of 20-year observations, it was revealed that the distribution of moisture in the soil under cover oat is mainly influenced by the micro-landscape structure of the territory of the dead-ice hill. The soil was the most humid during the period from 2003 to 2007; its average annual moisture was 59.5% of the maximum field moisture capacity (MFMC). Soil moisture, expressed in terms of percentage of MFMC, increased from the top to the down of the northern slope and in the transit of the southern slope. The lower limit of soil moisture was observed in the transit-accumulative agricultural micro-landscape of the southern slope (the decline was 6.7% of MFMC). Soil moisture depended on soil and meteorological factors. The coefficient of variation was 14.2%. Statistical data processing revealed a close positive correlation between precipitation and hydrothermal coefficients with soil moisture (r was 0.71 and 0.64, respectively). The average values of the levels of groundwater within the agricultural landscape varied from 113 to 159 cm. The closest occurrence of groundwater (94 cm) was noted in the transit variant of the northern slope, which corresponds to the optimal values for cereals cultivated on loamy soils. In the transit variant of the slope of the southern exposition and at the top, a lowered level of soil-groundwater was noted, which was explained by the nature of the underlying rock. The level of soil-groundwater depends on meteorological conditions of a year, micro-landscape organization of the territory and the slope exposure.

Keywords: agricultural landscape; slope exposure; water regime; soil moisture; level of groundwater.
