Abstract. In 2017–2018 in Omsk Agrarian Scientific Center the investigation was carried out to determine the influence of clonal rootstocks 54-118 and 62-396 on biometric parameters of apple seedlings. The objects of the research were a seed rootstock and clonal apple rootstocks 54-118 and 62-396. Apple tree varieties Altai Phoenix (“Feniks Altajsky”), Ural Transparent (“Ural’skoe Nalivnoe”), Red Early (“Red Ranny”), Belyanka, Zhigulevskoe were used as scions. Winter grafting method by improved copulation was used to obtain planting material. With stratification, callus adhesion between grafting components formed quicker in Red Early and Ural Transparent varieties (8–10 days), and it formed later in Belyanka, Altai Phoenix, and Zhigulevskoe varieties (12–14 days). In 2017, the survival rate of winter graftings on seed rootstock was 92–96%, on rootstock 54-118 it was 86–94%, on rootstock 62-396 it was 40–46%. In 2018, the value of this index was 91–94%, 88–94%, and 44¬–48%, respectively. There was not an influx of tissue over the site of grafting, breaks in the place of regrowth, premature appearance of autumn colour during the growing of planting stock. Over two years, the average height of plants on seed rootstock was 123.2cm, on rootstock 62-396 it was 69.1 cm, on rootstock 54-118 it was 95.7 cm; with the diameter of the trunk of 1 cm. In Red Early and Zhigulevskoe varieties, the plant height on the seed stock was 135.5–141.0 cm, on stock 54-118 it was 93.0–112.0 cm, on stock 62-396 it was 75.0–76.0 cm. The smallest values of this indicator were noted for Altai Phoenix variety: 102 cm, 81 cm, 59 cm, respectively. In 2017, the output of standard one-year seedlings of the first grade was 58–67% on the seed rootstock and 50–60% on clonal rootstock 54-118. In 2018, the value of this index was 52–61% and 46–58%, respectively. Standard seedlings were not obtained on clonal rootstock 62-396. Clonal rootstock 54-118 with the output of standard one-year seedlings of 53–59% is of the greatest interest for further use.
