Abstract. Due to the changes in climatic conditions in the Kemerovo region, there is a change in the duration of the period with negative temperatures in winter and in the depth of soil freezing, which in some way affects the growth and development of cultivated plants and their diseases during the growing season. The aim of the work was to determine the influence of the depth of soil freezing and the duration of the period with negative temperatures on the development of Fusarium root rot in the crops of spring soft wheat. The increase in the degree of the development of Fusarium root rot was noted in 1982 (5.6%), in 1994 (7.9%), in 2002 (20.1%), in 2012 (55.0%), in 2014 (48.0%). The increase in Fusarium root rot development in 2012 and 2014, in our opinion, was associated with not deep soil freezing (100 and 90 cm, respectively), as well as with a decrease in the duration of the period of negative temperatures (138 and 140 days). The minimum degree of the development of the disease was noted in 1984: 1.8% with a depth of soil freezing of 100.8 cm, and in 1986: 2.7% with a depth of freezing of 108 cm; the duration of the period of negative temperatures in these years was 160 and 164 days, respectively. In fact, the duration of the period of negative temperatures is the main factor affecting the development of the disease. The chosen research methodology, based on an analysis of the interrelation of environmental variables – the length of the period of negative temperatures and the depth of soil freezing – and the degree of development of the disease, made it possible to establish a rather stable correlation.
Keywords: Fusarium root rot; depth of soil freezing; duration of the period of negative temperatures; degree of disease development; correlation coefficient.
