Abstract. The influence of tuber treatment before planting with humic preparations on the yield and marketability of potato tubers of Tanay variety was studied. Humic preparations were obtained from brown coal of the Kemerovo region: potassium humate (Hum K, 2.51%), ammonium humate (Hum NH4, 1%), sodium humate (Hum Na, 2.23%), sodium humate (Hum Na, 11.12%), humic acids (Hum Ac, 1%). The studies were carried out in 2016–2018 at the experimental plot of the department of agriculture and plant growing of the Kemerovo State Agricultural Institute, located in the forest-steppe zone of the Kemerovo region. The soil of the experimental site was podzolized medium power medium humic heavy loamy chernozem. During the growing season, the onset of phenological phases of potato development was noted; biometric indicators, structure, yield, and marketability of potato were registered. Mathematical processing of the results of field experiments was performed using the method of variance analysis. It was revealed that the treatment of tubers with humic preparations did not affect the duration of the growing season. The vegetation period for Tanay variety in all studied variants was 77 days in 2016, 73 days in 2017, and 75 days in 2017. The studied preparations had a positive effect on the growth and development of potato; an increase in the weight of haulm was from 105.5 g/bush to 191.9 g/bush, compared with the control variant. The treatment of tubers before planting with humates also contributed to an increase in the weight of tubers from a bush from 48.8 g/bush to 294.5 g/bush. On average over 3 years of the research, the highest yields in the experiment were obtained in the options of the treatment of tubers with Hum K, 2.51% and Hum Ac, 1% – 44.5 t/ha and 47.8 t/ha, respectively.

Keywords: humic preparations; treatment of tubers; potato; productivity; marketability of tubers; Tanay variety.
