Abstract. The aim of the research was to study the influence of chicken droppings on potato productivity on meadow-chernozem soil of the southern forest-steppe of the Omsk region. The study was carried out in the experimental field of Omsk State Agrarian University in 2015–2017. We tested potato ‘Khozyayushka’. Before planting in the soil layer of 0–20 cm the content of nitrogen (N-NO3) was 2.28–7.20 mg/kg, the content of phosphorus (P2O5) was 122–174 mg/kg, the content of potassium was 247–325 mg/kg. Application of 4–20 t/ha of droppings caused a significant increase in tuber yield. The dose of 12 t/ha was the most effective, for this dose the yield of tubers was 32.1 t/ha (the increase was 9.9 t/ha or 44.9%). Droppings application significantly increased the content of nitrate nitrogen in the layer of 0–20 cm – from very low to very high; the content of mobile phosphorus increased from the increased to the high level. The content of exchange potassium in the soil changed insignificantly. The use of increasing doses of poultry droppings contributed to an increase in the content of dry matter in the tubers from 23.7% to 26.1%, of starch – from 16.6% to 18.5%. The concentration of nitrates in tubers increased insignificantly, and in all variants it did not exceed maximum permissible concentration. The ratio of tuber weight to tops weight increased from 1:1.06 in the control to 1:0.90 in the variant with the dose of 12 t/ha, the marketability increased from 88% to 92%, respectively. As a result, we determined the payback of the droppings with an additional yield of tubers; coefficients of droppings action on the soil nutrient regime; the cost of nutrients for the creation of 1 ton of tubers; the amount of nutrients introduced with 1 ton of droppings; the coefficients of utilization of elements from the soil and droppings.
