Abstract. In 2016–2018 we studied the adaptability and plasticity parameters of 18 varieties and samples of soybean in competitive variety test under conditions of the southern agricultural zone of the Amur region. The field experiments were carried out on meadow chernozem soil. Sowing was carried out four times on May 19–20 by the method of randomized repetitions (blocks). In each block the standards were sown: Lidia, Dauria and Alena varieties. The soybean samples belonged to three maturity groups: early ripening, mid-ripening, late-ripening. Five lines: Am. 2425, Am. 2442, Am. 2428, Am. 2429, and Am. 2430 showed the best yield, significantly exceeding standards’ productivity by 0.32–0.49 t/ha. They also proved to be the most valuable genotypes combining high yield with responsiveness to changing conditions and environmental adaptability. Therefore they were recommended as source material in breeding for higher productivity and adaptivity under the regional conditions. Dauria and Alena varieties and Am. 2426, Am. 2442, Am. 2425, Am. 2404, Am. 2428, Am. 2429, Am. 2430, Am. 2434, Am. 2436, Am. 1170, Am. 2379, Am. 2343 and Am. 2423 samples of intensive type (bi more than 1) with the value of this indicator at the level of 1.02–2.20 were the best in terms of the regression coefficient (bi) characterizing plasticity. By the complex of signs we selected two samples corresponding to the parameters of new varieties: early ripening Zolotnitsa variety (Am. 2425) and mid-ripening VNIIS-18 variety (Am. 2429), passed to the state variety test in 2019.
